After PiL, Pogues, Madness and all the others I dare not mention I'm pretty sick of writing live reviews. So instead let's go back to a time (long before the MYSPACE site) when there was a quiet dignity and eloquence residing at the heart of the FANSITE. Here from around '79 (I think) is a wonderful newsletter from the Stranglers Information Service (written by Jet Black's bruv? probably).

SIS weren't going to talk STREET to the kids, oh no, courteous and dignified was how it was going to be, just like The Stranglers had always been portrayed by the media, courteous and dignified - I love it! What has happened to courtesy, dignity and eloquence in this bloody country ahhhh, I blame the bloody Callaghan government!

Anyway fuck polite courtesy for a game of marbles, during my deep explorations into all things Strangler related (trying to fill Fanzine space and somehow get out of reviewing the Leamington gig) I came across ten unused tickets for a Strangler's gig at the legendary Commodore Ballroom (Vancouver - Canada) on Thursday 14th May 1981. How I got these tickets I can't divulge for two main reasons, one I've been asleep since '81 (mainly on my face) and two, I can't remember. But these must be the only ten tickets left on the planet so if you would like one, send us a mail (we'll ask you a question - it's the law) and then Jean's your uncle we'll send you a ticket.
