RETURN OF THE BRUT

Are you looking forward to the next couple of months? No? Well you should be! Because ART BRUT with Eddie Argos at the helm are back - "Eddie Argos a cunning blend of John Otaway and Ian Dury mixed with the eye brows of Alfred Molina" - believe.

Brut are returning with a fourth album "Brilliant! Tragic!" which will be released on the 25th May and they're also taking up residency at the Lexington London around the same time.
GO HERE for details.

Now I know how you feel sometimes you just can't be arsed to get out there to see bands. You're a little too reliant on the idiot box, a little too strapped for KA$H, a little too old, a little bit too pissed to walk past the off licence alone. Well if you need an extra push in the direction of Art Brut here it is:

REASON 145: The last time I saw Art Brut it was at the huge sticky floored bog hole known locally as the Birmingham Academy/Humingbird/Top Rank (now sadly deceased and replaced - bastards!) Was it during "Art Brut Vs Satan"? I think it was, Edwardo Argo left the confines of the stage and mingled with us great unwashed. This was less a naked Iggy Pop gets submerged moment and more of a clothed moist singer meets dry shy punters for a brief tête à tête.

But all the same in these times when clambering onstage seems to have been thrust into a bin marked "things you can no longer do when you feel a joyous", along with "shagging in a bus shelter", "sticking your head out of a train window whilst speeding through a station" and "mooning from the top deck of a bus". We believe that for this reason the stage invasion in reverse should be revered and cherished. - The stage invasion in reverse our REASON No. 145 for going to Art Brut Live.

PS Please someone out there tell Art Brut to do a cover of "I'm Straight" by Modern Lovers I'm hoarse from trying.

Done & dusted ES
