Oil City Confidential
- The Dr. Feelgood Story

Back in 2000 when the exemplary Pistols documentary "The Filth and the Fury" was released we
provisionally forgave Julien Temple for his past sins (we mean "Absolute Beginners"). However we did make you aware of our intention to: "still keep an eye on him lest he has an unfortunate relapse". Then when the Joe Strummer documentary "The Future is Unwritten" came out a couple of years ago we were magnanimous with our proclamation that went something like: "In our opinion Mr Temple is now completely exonerated. From this day forward there will be no derogatory or undermining comments made about him and "Absolute Beginners" will never again be mentioned in this Fanzine. As far as we are concerned Mr Julien Temple is a greatly revered British film maker".

….And so as if to prove us right Julien Temple has only gone and done it again with a new documentary entitled "Oil City Confidential - The Dr. Feelgood Story". It's about to hit the cinema screens soonish so watch the skies. If you want some background on this story there's plenty about just go to http://www.facebook.com/OilCityConfidential for a start. Yes we're "signposting" yer aren't we fash.

Also there's a good article in the February issue of "Record Collector" magazine. We like "Record Collector" magazine cos there not full of clever ideology and bullshit so why don't you go and buy a copy. (Cos were fed up of printing other peoples stuff in the Fanzine and getting threatened and shit). A word to the wise though, in case you're a tad confused because "Record Collector" are. The photo below is most definitely the revered British film maker Julien Temple and not Wilko Johnson, trust us it may be the only thing we know but we know.

Hopefully we'll get to see & review the film prior to DVD release - hopefully.

If you still don't know who Dr Feelgood, Wilko Johnson and Julien Temple are then I really envy you because you've got hours and hours of enjoyment ahead of you - find out!

Wilko is still most definitely at large, these days you can't help but catch him live at least once a year, here's his latest dates -

6th February - The Garage - Swansea
27th February - The Boardwalk - Sheffield
5th March - The Royal Standard - Blackhorse London

[Word of warning - he still has "menace"].
