February 28th Issue 445
On the 1st of Feb, Marcus Garvey was the subject of Radio 4's Great Lives - go here to listen. The show will be available until 2099. Yes 2099! Those folks at the BBC are completely cracked. Colin Grant the author of "Negro with a Hat" (well worth a read) was on the show along with the actor Kwame Kwei-Armah. But unfortunately the show was hosted as always by Matthew Parris, so even though the programme was an excellent listen very close to the end Parris couldn't help but open his fatuous little gob. His usual brand of turdist nonsense came out. He said "I was a Marcus Garvey sceptic…..because the people that idolised Marcus Garvey I found quite tiresome….the loony left wing councils who named council estates after Marcus Garvey prejudiced me against the man".
Parris is an old Tory Boy MP who has led a duplicitous self deceiving personal life, so it's not surprising that he talks cock and has found a natural home from home at the BBC. But what is alarming, is that armed with reasoning so infantile he has been in a position to make life damaging judgements on the basis of his own childish prejudices.
I suppose that if the Tory held councils of the eighties had named their estates after Mussolini, Hitler, Tito and Pol Pot, Mathew Parris would now be a world authority on all four. Anyway, we salute you Matthew Parris, you are a DICK of the highest water and worthy of this months Age of the Idiot award. Hurrah!
I shall now take a deep breath.
Done.
Let's move on.
If it hadn't been for Marcus Garvey's wives his legacy may well have been buried without a trace. Below is an article from "Spare Rib" magazine circa '88 lest we forget the legacy of Black Woman in the Garvey Movement - Oh dear what a loony left wing, gay & ethnic tolerant, tosser I am!
