A place for friends?

Ok we've done the family now let's do the friends, Myspace a place for friends - I have no idea what Myspace is, or what people use it for. Greg set up our Myspace site in October with a remit from Bigot to only request to be friends with Bands as they appear in any new copies of the Fanzine. He and I had no idea that bands along with normal folk would send in requests to us, to be our friends? What's that all about? The world truly is a confusing place. Anyway if a band has sent a friend request to our myspace site we have listened to every track on the senders site (hey it's not been very many). Obviously John has the absolute say, and he will only accept friends he believes have the Heart of a Punk or Soul of a Rasta. Greg told him that this is not exactly the point of Myspace and I said "why can't we just be friends with everyone or anyone who shows an interest" but The Bigot won again by way of a withering stare. Anyway this is an exceptionally long preamble even for me to get to The Dead Delta, who if you haven't already heard sound f***in' excellent. Get Kasabian, The Godfathers, Nick Cave, Dr Feelgood, and Peter Green together, put them all in great big horrible filthy dirty sack, chuck in two dozen starving rats, seal it, tie a rope around it, swing the sack round and round your head five or six times and chuck it into the cut (canal). Let it sink to the bottom amongst the tar black mud, the bikes, the gun barrels, the rotting bodies and the two hundred years of shit. After fifteen minutes (yes a rat can live underwater that long) drag it out, and open it up, the sound that will immediately go for your throat will be the sound The Dead Delta make. Don't believe me, go listen!

Someone sign these boys and release them upon an unsuspecting public sometime soon.

Listed in March 2009

Wraithlike - Maximo Park (Free download prior to new album) consider the appetite whetted, the mad hatter returns after robbing The Sweet's ballroom blitz siren.

Weird Science - Art Brut (Free download prior to new album) the one trick ponies return with part three of a three card trick. On the evidence of this and "Alcoholics Unanimous" there might not much about abstinence on Art Brut V Satan released 20th April, tour follows. http://www.artbrut.org.uk/

Vlad the Impaler - Kasabian
(Free download prior to new album) coming from outside the box - gothic dance - Kasabian style. "West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum" released 8th June, tour follows. http://blog.kasabian.co.uk/

Weedkiller - The Kills (From the Black Balloon EP) apparently they aren't Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. Grind, grind, grind!

We are Us - Twisted Wheel (The final curtain raiser before the debut album) Twisted Wheel released on the 13th April, tour follows. More rant than anthem, thank God for that, I'm all anthemed out. http://www.myspace.com/thetwistedwheel

Goodnight, Travel Well - The Killers (seen live in the last days of Feb). The last track from their "Day & Age" album it sounds like it inadvertently fell off the back of "The Cure's" "Faith" album, a slow burning monumental gothic wonderment.

Final Requests
Magazine who are presently hard at work (in my parallel universe) recording a new album, please take time out from recording the new stuff to cover "Morning Bell" formerly of "Radiohead" by way of "Kid A" - As always free to download when done.

A Message from The Bigot.

Heart of a Punk Soul of a Rasta can now be read on the internet.
Why anyone would read the Fanzine off a computer screen is beyond me.
But if that is what Edward wants that's ok with me.
However next month I will be returning to the helm of the Fanzine and Edward will be reviewing the two bloody albums I've been asking him to review for the last six months! - The Bigot
