John Cooper Clarke - In transit

J Cooper Clarke

JCC In Transit

Liverpool Street Station,
twelve thirty three,
scanning the confluence for a celebrity,
The morass of muppets parted,
I spied a black dorsal fin
zig zaging its way towards platform 15.

Thin as an anorexic bootlace,
less meat than a kipper,
When he turned to flash his ticket
I lost sight of him all together.

Me Kid shouted out "it's John Cooper Clarke"
I said bollocks is it son he only comes out after dark.

But there he was all the same; JCC at LSS going f*ck knows where! Draging all his wares behind him in his wheely case thing; a brief encounter with the BARD that's all the excuse I need to play this little GEM! Surely there is still a punk band out there somewhere with the good sense to bang this one into there set.

"Innocents" was produced by Martin Hannett in '77 and released thru' RABID RECORDS. It has a product assured stamp on the label "PLAY LOUD" - it should be.

Last of The International Playboys by Moz?
Last of The English Roses by Pedro Doherty?
Nah
This is The Last of the Holy Innocents!
