GREETINGS!

March 31st Issue 446

Greetings you fine person singular welcome to the Fanzine Heart of a Punk Soul of a Rasta, it was a strange March, a March full of absolute certainties. It was a certainty that Britain would sooner or later find itself a new WAR (a WAR to everyone but the BBC whose memo pushers still believe it's a CONFLICT) well the 24 hour satellite bods had pored as much fuel as the could on the area so what did we expect. Another certainty (if you believe in fairies and North European propaganda) is that contrary to the laws of credibility OUR bombs and bullets are programmed not to kill or harm a single Libya civilian. Call me old fashioned but…………BULLSHIT!

We also found out in March that there's nothing more certain than if folk start pissing about with Nuclear Power eventually we're all going to get shafted. It was nice to hear the International Atomic Energy Agency getting their priorities right though. As Japan was gently corroding the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency was attempting to classify the leak. Yukiya Amano said "If Three Mile island was a 5 Chernobyl an 8 Japan could be classed as level 5 or 6". Well that is a relief, only a 5 or a 6, phew that's luck. A case of classify first and count the bodies later nice touch.

Certainty no. 4 also uncovered in March was that if you take to the streets to protest against your leaders in Egypt or Bahrain or Syria or Tunisia or Jordan or Yemen your protest is completely valid and your politicians had better listen up, like NOW! But if you were one of the 500,000 people protesting in London during March then I'm sorry you're protest is completely invalid, there's no way you can expect your leaders to change their policies. But let's be serious for a moment the situation isn't really the same in this country coz in truth it's difficult to argue with Cameron & Clegg because they're such "master debaters", give or take a couple of letters!

And finally it became a certainty in March that if the Police in Libya attack journalists and kill ordinary citizens they must be described in the press as evil criminals, while if the British Police drag journalists to the ground and kill ordinary citizens like Ian Tomlison they are simply doing their job and should never ever, ever be prosecuted. Yes this is Britain in 2011, so many certainties all of them shit, we were going to need a barrow load of decent music to drown the f**kers out! We found it!

There were new releases aplenty - a US trinity from The Strokes, R.E.M., and The Vaccines (tee he he). Poly Styrene released her first record out for more than a long time and there were a lot of LIVE manoeuvres also. I got myself out to see bands aplenty including The Strangleroes, The Abbsynians and The Glasvegans; and John decided instead of spending a night IN with the TV he'd spend a night OUT with the TV. Read on, but only if you're really interested.

Morrissey announced some gigs in March, go here for details. My personal recommendation is if you're thinking of going, go to the early dates to save disappointment by cancellation. Oh yeah and Moz also did an interview in March with the Guardian, he should really know better by now.

And everyone's second favourite band Sons & Daughters released details of their new LP released in June entitled "Mirror Mirror" - free download & details available here. Of course S&D once backed up Morrissey. You see we don't just throw this FANZINE together, its all about continuity; continuity, continuity and bullshit.

Talking of continuity, here's one to think about, Wilko Johnson and TV Smith of The Adverts what's the connection? Well we'll tell you coz Wikipedia don't know jack. See you at the end.
