Single - Blonde - Mail.
The Mail on Sunday gave away "Parallel Lines" by Blondie on the 5th December. Obviously I wanted to get a copy of the CD for the two new tracks "What I Heard" which I heard live at the Wolves Civic back in June '10 and for the Blondie version of "Girlie Girlie" (a Jamaican No. 1 for Sophia George & No.7 hit in the UK Dec '85). But also obviously I wasn't going to go out and buy a copy of the Mail on Sunday, what do you take me for, some kind of crypto fascist? Don't answer that!
No I had to bide my time and wait because as sure as God made little green apples the newspaper (or militarist rag) was going to be placed in the recycling tub and the FREE Blondie CD was going to be removed from the plastic bag and taken to the nearest charity shop the next time Colonel Algernon Blimp made his way into the Conservative Club for a hand of Bridge. I was right, I invariable am. Finally I got myself a copy, lovely isn't it, and the Cats Protection League is now .20p better off. Never let it be said that I'm not a philanthropist of the highest water! New album "Panic of Girls" is coming soon………………….in the meantime here's a Girlie Girlie mash up, mmm perhaps not.
